Stephanie Calman, founder of SC Fine Art, has been involved in the art business for over 25 years including gallery, auction house, online art marketplace, private consulting and fine art appraisal experience.
She has a bachelor’s degree in Art History from Harvard College and is also a graduate of Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. Her career has included roles at Sotheby's auction house as well as top New York galleries such as Hirschl & Adler.
As a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA), she has achieved the highest level of professional recognition, demonstrating extensive expertise and rigorous training in personal property appraisal. Stephanie is fully compliant with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), the Congressionally-recognized appraisal standards set by The Appraisal Foundation, and is recognized as a “qualified appraiser” by the IRS for estate tax and charitable donation appraisals involving fine art. In addition to her appraisal work, Stephanie provides art advisory services, assisting both new and experienced collectors with acquisitions, collections management, art research, and navigating the art market.
Stephanie specializes in the appraisal of American and European fine art, including paintings, drawings, and original prints. Additionally, she has experience appraising decorative arts, furniture, and antiques.
